Wedding Bands

Wedding bands are probably the most important symbol of marriage. The decision to deny everything together from the time of the wedding is symbolized by these rings for the rest of one's life. Even in ancient times, rings were used to express a strong bond. On the ring finger of the left hand Egyptian and Roman women wore the wedding band, which in ancient Rome was still worn exclusively by women. The left side for the wedding band was chosen because of the love vein running there, in addition, these rings were still made of solid iron to have a symbolism for the bond taken place. Today wedding bands are made of high-quality precious metal to ensure the best possible corrosion resistance and skin compatibility. As this ring is to be worn for the rest of one's life, the most durable materials such as gold, silver and platinum are also used. But wedding bands can also be made of unconventional materials such as ceramics or tungsten. Wedding bands have been used since Pope Nicholas the First. (approx. 850 AD) for the infinity of love and mutual trust. The wedding bands are engraved with the name of the partner and the wedding day, which can also be placed on the outside of modern wedding bands.
